View From The Closet Doorway ReviewView from the Closet Doorway is a very good coming of age story. It is universal and insighful, but beyond that, it was particularly fun for me to read because it was modern day view into suburban Chicago high school life of which I haven't been a part since the mid 70's. I have not had children, and I haven't lived in the suburbs for about 30 years, so this was just a pleasure. Through Melodie Starkey's colorful lingo and story telling, I feel as if I have quickly experienced this suburban high school life again with with all its possibilities, growth, and pains.
